PTSD presents with a variety of signs and symptoms that could potentially alter your daily activities. Here are the signs and symptoms of PTSD:
Intrusion
This category includes the following symptoms:
- Flashbacks – during which you relive the event over and over again
- Memories – vivid, unsettling, and terrifying of the event
- Nightmares – frequent and include bits about the event
- Intense physical and mental distress
Avoidance
As the name implies, people will start avoiding certain individuals, locations, and situations that bring back memories of the traumatic event.
Arousal and reactivity
These symptoms may include:
- Difficulty concentrating
- Easy startling and experiencing exaggerated reactions

The first step involves listening to your story and why you think you’re experiencing these symptoms. Every person is a unique entity; therefore, the first session will be you-focused to understand the depth and underlying mechanisms of your suffering.
We will then proceed to outline a plan with a set of goals. One of the goals would be changing how you feel right now and planning how you want to feel.
In order to succeed in the treatment of trauma and PTSD I use a combination of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and EMDR. The combination of strategic, solution focused therapy with deeper interventions bring the best results in my practice.
